recently ive picked up TikTok and BeReal. If you dont know what that means then you might as well go on to glory then because the industry is changing…. and we haven’t even started scratching the surface of the Metaverse. the future isn’t scary… adapting to it is the scary part… and rather than being reluctant and complaining ive decided to try and embrace it and find beauty in it. its honestly been fun…. until someone with the handle @satanslittlecupcake starts following you… thats when shit starts kinda getting weird.

artistic advice given in the most non-artistic way.
This topic has been heavy on my mind because lots of people (actually, lots of people) always ask me the same question about what this freelance life really about. That proverbial ‘leap of faith’. They want it. They want a taste of what ‘freedom’ looks and feels like. If having a day job is that steady, reliable marriage, then freelance is that hot, passionate, dirty, secret meetup at the motel at 2am. But truly I tell you, if you want your business to succeed, you gotta turn that hoe into a housewife. (sorry ladies, not to be offensive, but the analogy is too good to be excluded).

Remember, Remember, The 5th…
I was with a friend the other day and he spoke to me about what Ira Glass refers to as “the gap”. The gap is that space between your skill level and your taste level. I believe a masters mission is one that spends all their time and energy closing it, where skill and taste are in unison and whether it’s for that one moment or for the rest of their life, the artist is performing at God level and harmony exists within their unique human existence. I believe this gap will never be closed in my lifetime, and for me to live out the rest of my days being a decent human being, my focus needs to shift toward acceptance of that fact… Cause the opposite side of that is more depression anxiety low self worth stuff we take pills for.

December 2021 haul
As some of you know, I love shopping. Whether its camera and music equipment, or clothes, I love to do it. I love buying, trying new things. I love researching companies and finding out more about the why.

how did you get here?
There are always nerves going into every big shoot. The nerves of a Tech hinge on the reliability of the technology and tools. This job wasn’t some gallery for a tv/film, or some e-com in the studio…. we was really out there… like out there fighting nature. creating pictures that we want to feel so real, in sometimes unrealistic circumstances.

I used to take MARTA to class freshman year. Contrary to popular opinion I enjoyed taking the train into the city. I could catch up on reading, prepare my mind, listen to an album, listen to demos, sleep, you name it. It was a nice few minutes of rest where I could rely on someone else to take the wheel as I caught up with the little things in life.

Nature is metal.
Both of my parents laughed and I remember thinking huh… I guess people do really care about stuff like that…

Hyphenated creatives
I feel like creative people always start out as a “this is my side thing” person.
